Alverstoke Craft Fair, 8th August 2015

The summer weather hasn’t been the best this year so deciding to have an outdoor stall was a bit of a gamble! But luckily the day dawned bright and sunny and we were able to spread out and enjoy the summer sunshine – even Mel’s little daughter Elli came along to give us a hand!

The fair was held at the Parish Centre in the village of Alverstoke, Gosport – which is my home town – and organised by Michelle, founder of From the Craftbox. It was the first fair here for us and was very well attended, not least by friends and family who always make the effort to support us.

A Day in London

No trip to London is complete without a visit to the famous Liberty store – and it didn’t disappoint! My husband Andrew had been given a voucher to visit Tottenham Hotspur’s football ground, so of course it provided me with the ideal opportunity beforehand to wander along to Regent Street from our hotel in Covent Garden for some retail therapy. Naturally I headed straight to the 3rd floor! The central display was lovely and so were the quilts draped over the banisters. One was by the Shoreditch Sisters Women’s Institute and quite stunning (you never know, Liberty might even display one of our quilts one day…..!)

Finally – our next craft fair will be at Stansted Park, Rowlands Castle on 30th August. Then we’ll be getting ready for our  two big quilt shows:-

The Knitting and Stitching show at Westpoint, Exeter 24th – 27th September

Autumn Quilt Festival, Malvern 23rd – 25th October

Enjoy the rest of the summer!

Best wishes from Amanda
