After a wait that seemed forever – our Sugared Hexagon Quilt has arrived in issue 24 of Todays Quilter. Using the entire collection of Sunny Isle by Jennifer Paganelli for Free Spirit Fabrics. Its bright, sunny and of course floral! Beautifully quilted by Abigail Sheridan de Graaff (http://cutandalter.blogspot.co.uk/)
Summer is the month of blooms and this beautiful quilt is no exception. With fabrics such as Garen and its most beautiful roses which adds a softness to the bold rich colours.
Enjoy the 6 pages of glorious colour in the magazine and then enjoy making your own! Full details are in the magazing with wonderful step by step instructions and diagrams. Its really not as hard as it looks! You do not have to be an experienced quilter to enjoy making this quilt.
There is only one of the our Today’s Quilter bundle special left as we are nearly out of of one of the colours. That said there is a fab replacement using Sophia from Hotel Fred which is a fantastic alternative if you miss out on the full collection.

At last we can show off the gorgeous colours of Jennifer Paganelli’s new collection Color Brigade! The big bold florals and rich colours are Jennifer at her best. There is limited stock so grab your JP while its here.
Lots of bold colors in this line after the soft romantic pastels of Nostalgia! A very personal collection for Jennifer, she writes:
Happy is the moniker of this lovely selection. Large florals with deep colored backgrounds lay the foundation for this strong Island vibe that once again has that “take me away” vacation vibe. Having grown up in the Virgin Islands and embracing the world of mismatched pattern on all the lovely people that resided there is where the foundation for my textiles begins. Layers of different cloths and head wraps are the origins of my homeland and the cruzan culture of my sensibility. Textiles played a huge roll in my early aesthetic development. These florals come alive with the saturated colors of Sis Boom. Coordinates and color mixed with these florals or the huge Fluer de lis and this wonderful check will look as though you threw it all together when in actuality there is a color harmony that keeps the fluidity intact. Two toned wood cuts, and rhythmic lines keep it all cohesive. I can see amazing quilts and gorgeous dresses and products crafted from these amazing designs. Cabanas and beach umbrellas dot the beaches, and the bathing suits and trunks all cohabit here to bring you another resort vibe from none other than me.
WOW – time to put our feet up! After 3 big shows in 3 months its time for a well deserved rest on the show circuit. We just have the market night to go on the 3rd July 7:30-9 on Facebook so log in and join in on the great sell off of our remnants!
We’re busy ordering for the Autumn and pleased to tell you there will be MORE Amy Butler as we welcome the new range of Eternal Sunshine. It will slot in nicely with Dreamweaver carrying the great trademark blues and greens with some of the deeper wine colours for the autumn. Oh and did I mention BIG roses – ooooh yes, big bright roses! SWOOOON.
We have got Flo’s florals coming in July from Lewis & Irene and Dove house and Harbourside in August. So new ranges from them as well – which will be just in time as we are running low on stock now!
We’re working on getting some Jennifer Paganelli – so watch this space, fingers crossed, soooooon.

Tina Givens has been designing fabrics for the apparel and quilt industry for Coats ® (Free Spirit Fabric) for the last 8 years. She injects her signature colour and detailed illustration into each piece. We love her quirky fabric. The original sketches mush be amazing as each print captures that hand-drawn look. So as soon as we saw her new collection – Feather Flock – we jumped at the chance to stock it nearly in its entirety. We loved all the colours so much, we chose them all!
What Tina says about Feather Flock:
Feather Flock is a dreamy collection of novelty prints based on a very sweet memory of my children when they were chatty little toddlers. The collection features Princess Feather, a special nocturnal fairy who loves to flitter in the soft, moon-lit sky. Her best friend is the King Bird, reigning over the special night sky who ensures his flock of tiny birds keep watch over all the children in the land. Inspired by my children’s nursery when they were little people, the room had amazing sky lights over each of their toddler beds. We’d watch the stars come out and on special nights, the crescent moon appeared in full view. The children’s father and I would chat with them about the moon, the King Bird and his merry flock who’d stay watch as they slept in the light of the moon. A sweet memory I will always cherish.
Feeling inspired? See the collection in our shop! There are three colour ways to choose from, from the richest of plums to the freshest of greens.
Hope to see some of your wonderful projects soon!
