Next Pop Up Hampshire!

We’ll be coming to Droxford Village Hall in Hampshire on the 7th July. We’ve once again joined up with Eternal Maker for fun, fabric and cake!

Classes are now listed for the day:

Introduction to Hexies -We will show you how to tack and sew your flower with time spent
exploring manipulation of fabrics to create new patterns

Measure Up Come and get measured up, and pick up some tips on how to choose which size to cut from your dress pattern, how to blend between sizing and more.  Go away with a sheet of measurements which will help take your dressmaking to new levels.

Kim Edith will be joining us again for another introduction to scrapbooking with textiles! At this 2 hour workshop come and create a small stitched fabric collage inspired by Kim’s latest Stitchbook ‘Into The Woods’.  Learn a range of techniques that Kim uses to make her Stitchbooks, including using stampers to create lettering, adding photos to fabric, and how to turn textile scraps into works of art.  Chose from either a butterfly or a mushroom template which you will be able to personalise and create in your choice of colour and pattern.

What you need to know:

Doors open at 10:30 and close at 3.

Parking is free but limited immediately outside the building. There are more spaces less than a 5 minute stroll away  in the community parking area by the playing fields on Park Lane which is nearly opposite. If you are planning to bring your sewing group please let us know in advance as we have access to overflow parking if we arrange ahead.

So if you are in the Hampshire area do come say hello. We chose Droxford as it is easily reachable for Petersfield, Fareham, Portsmouth and Southampton. Hope to see you soon!

Lindos now in!

Lindos from Lewis and Irene is now in stock! All 15 glorious fabrics! Beautiful blues and hot pinks with a hint of metallic to shimmer in the light, oh and did I mention an Octopus?!

Here’s what Lewis and Irene had to say about the collection..

Lindos on the beautiful island of Rhodes in Greece has a special place in our hearts.
Carefree days spent on its pretty pebbled beaches and the clear, warm shimmering sea.
The little cobbled streets, the welcoming deer at Madraki harbour, long lunches in the sun and happy memories …

Easter Egg Scramble – from BossyOz

We’ve fallen in love with BossyOz’s Easter Egg Scramble  template! A great template to start your Foundation Paper Piecing journey or brush up on your skills. This straightforward block can be used singularly as a feature or why not make a sweet quilt or table runner?

We’ve joined up with Nina (BossyOz) to run two promotions to start you on your Easter Egg making.

Buy any of the four shades of pastel Bumbleberries featured here (CandyFloss, Light Duck Egg, Mellow Yellow,  Lavender) and get 10% off using the code ‘BossyOz10’ at checkout, then go over to Nina’s shop here and use the code ‘SBC1820’ for 20% off her template. Both codes valid until the end of March 2018.

Nina’s PDF includes three sizes – 5″, 6″ and 7″ tall eggs.  Have some fun with fussy cutting, solid fabrics, or even consider creating a full quilt by using the egg block, the possibilities are endless!

Never Foundation Pieced before? Don’t worry! This simple tutorial from Angela Walters is all I needed to get me started! Click here for the video.
